Discussions and lectures

About event

COPERTINO Association invites you to a lecture by historian PhDr. Eva Doležalová, Ph.D. From the cycle "what you will not hear on KTF".

In April 1389, at the time of the reign of the Czech and Roman King Wenceslas IV, one of the greatest medieval attacks on the Jewish settlement took place in Prague in the Old Town. Its causes and impacts are still subject to professional discussions. Prague events, however, most likely became a tragic inspiration for the expulsion of Jews from Pořelec, which occurred shortly after. The aim of the lecture is not primarily the reconstruction of the course of both pogroms, but the targeting of rhetoric and communication between Prague and Pořeřec, event. Even other cities in the Czech lands and the Holy Roman Empire and the strategy of the monarch and the city communities in support or rejection of Jewish settlement.
