About event
Screening of the film The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari with live musical accompaniment by President Lourajder.
The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari / Robert Wiene / Germany 1919–1920 / CZT / 48 min. / 35mm – Undoubtedly the most famous and most cited work of German film expressionism. In 1920, specifically on February 26, moviegoers gazed for the first time with a pleasantly horrifying chill into the slowly and jerkily opening eyes of Conrad Veidt in the role of an involuntarily murderous medium who was awakened to life by Werner Krauss as the demonic Doctor Caligari.
