About event
Ballet of the National Theater Brno will open a new season with the premiere of Ballet Kafka. In the dance form, he wants to pay tribute to this literary genius, whose centenary of death we commemorated last year in all different areas of culture. Kafka topics are still up to date in modern society, as evidenced by the fact that artists are still returning to them. As a current ballet, it is processed by choreographer Markéta Pimek Habalová, who is the author of the very popular Cinderella title.
Ballet Kafka will bring the audience a unique meeting with the literary world and the personal story of Franz Kafka. The dance work connects Kafka's immortal texts such as "transformation" or "process" with the real events of his life - family background, health problems and complex relationships that shaped his work. The uniqueness of the performance will underline the combination of three generations of dancers. The juniors, the main ensemble and the senior ensemble will jointly create a symbolic testimony of time, transformation and human destiny - topics that resonate with the whole Kafka work.
premiere 24 October at Janáček Theater
