KAMELOT The Awakening World EU Tour 2024 II
Kamelot musicians will come to Bratislava to spin a hurricane full of emotions!!
BRATISLAVA. Thirteen studio albums, thousands of fans around the world, fresh and catchy progressive-melodic power metal. Even so, the creation of the American Camelots could be briefly described.
The band, which was founded in 1991 by guitarist Thomas Youngblood and drummer Richard Warner (he left the group in 1997), has a current studio album "The Awakening" in circulation since March 2023, which will be presented live in October also to Europe. By the way, the fans have been waiting for a new record for five long years.
What is pleasing for Slovak fans is that this tour will not miss our country, Kamelot will perform on Thursday, October 17, in the MMC club in Bratislava.
The current studio album, which is the thirteenth in a row, brings fans thirteen songs (including the intro), which are characterized by strong choruses, instrumental playfulness and strong compositions.
According to the words of the founding member Thomas Youngblood, the group had 25 songs prepared for the current material, in the end only twelve of them made it to the album (if we don't count the intro). The well-known Sascha Paeth (Avantasia), who has been working with the Americans since 1999, took care of the production, Jacob Hansen took care of the mix and mastering.
The debut album of this group "Eternity" was released in 1995, a year later they released "Dominion", Mark Vanderbilt also sang on both of these recordings. In 1998 came the album "Siége Perilous" with Roy Khan behind the microphone, which became the main weapon of this band.
In 2011, however, Roy Khan and Kamelot parted ways, after seven studio albums. Perhaps their greatest success in this era was with the album "The Black Halo" from 2005.
After Khan, Tommy Karevik joined the band. And while rock fans may have been worried about this major change, hiring this Swede turned out to be the best possible move.
Karevik brought fresh wind and new ideas to Kamelot. In addition, fans and critics accepted it immediately and without problems. Like it or not, this Swedish musician does more than great with the album "Silverthorn" from 2012.
Kamelot also impressed the fans with the live album "I am the Empire (Live from the 013)" from 2020, where singer Tommy Karevik cut several interesting duets - with Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy and Elize Ryd from Amaranthe, but also Lauren Hart and Charlotte Wessels (ex-Delain).
And this live performance is proof that the members of Kamelot can spin a real musical storm full of emotions live, which will not leave any fan cold. The unmistakable voice of singer Tommy Karevik, who has already recorded four albums with the band, adds a stamp of excellence to this band.
Kamelot will be accompanied on the tour by the bands Ad Infinitum and Blackbriar. The Swiss Ad Infinitum are a relatively young band that has been on the scene since 2018 and has four albums to their credit, the last one "Chapter III - Downfall" was released in March 2023. The Dutch gothics Blackbriar have recorded two studio albums so far, the last one from last year calls "A Dark Euphony". The evening will be opened by the Italian power metal band Frozen Crown, which was formed in 2017.
Kamelot fans, mark the date October 17, 2024 in your calendars!
