Karinthy's work is one of the best illness memoirs of all time and also unique from a world literature point of view creation. Heartbreaking investigation after the "big diagnosis". From health to illness - this is every person's nightmare and an almost inevitable big change in the second half of their life. The work still has significant literary and human value, as Karinthy turns to the secrets of the world with elementary curiosity. He researches himself, the characteristics of medicine, science, obsessively, yet imbued with some self-irony. He believes in the power of science, its redemptive power that transcends human lives. Karinthy's rationalist style, perpetual self-reflection and sensitivity to parody make her works deeply relatable and entertaining. Humor is an elementary part of life at Karinthy, she analyzes everything from this perspective.
