Karrera Klub - Indie & Brit Pop Aftershow Party for Johnny Marr's concert
Johnny Marr's concert this evening at Astra is already sold out. But no reason to be sad. From 11 p.m. the DJs Christian and Spencer from Karrera Klub will start the aftershow party for the concert with their indie and Brit pop sounds.
Entry is free for concert goers. Guests without a concert ticket pay €6 at the door from 11pm after the concert!
A wild journey from the beginning of indie till now!
There are now supposed to be indie parties that are named after songs by the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand or the Wombats and celebrate our past. Here comes the original, because these bands were personally guests live at the mother of all indie parties, the Karrera Club, and played their first shows there on stage!
Who would have thought that almost three decades ago on that Friday in May 1996. A small party at Huxleys Jr., with a Carrera track set up, was the birth of the Karrera Club, which has now grown into an event agency. One of the first bands with us was a band called “Stiller”, later “Sportfreunde” were added and the rest is known. Many now big bands experienced their first Berlin performances at Karrera: Franz Ferdinand, The Kills and The Killers in the Roter Salon, Kettcar in the Bastard, La Roux in the Lovelite, Tomte in the old private club, Bilderbuch, MGMT, Johnossi and Of Monsters And Men in the Lido, Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats in the Mudd Club, Arcade Fire, The Libertines, The XX, LCD Soundsystem, Shout Out Louds, Maximo Park and Mando Diao in the old Magnet, Editors and Kaiser Chiefs in the Postbahnhof, Kings Of Leon and Modest Mouse in the Columbiaclub, Mumford & Sons and Two Door Cinema Club in the Rosis, and even Adele had her first appearance in Berlin, there at a party as a support act. The list seems endless, and we were also able to host legends like Oscar winner Glen Hansard, the Beatsteaks in the much-too-small Magnet, Paul Weller in the Schillertheater, Henry Rollins in the Passion Church and most recently Burt Bacharach in the Admiralspalast!
But the Karrera Club wasn't just a force at home games. A number of points were also scored away from home, for example, there were festival appearances at Tempelhof Sounds 2022, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Rock am Ring, Melt! Festival, Immergut, Berlin Festival, Beyond Millions and in the Malzfabrik. Even in the cities of Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, Dresden and Leipzig, the records were rotated regularly.
The desire for live concerts has unfortunately been satisfied for over 5 years. The Karrera Club has not been holding any concerts since March 2019, only parties and people continue to dance like crazy!
