Karsu in Paradiso

Karsu makes music as if genres do not exist. One moment she lets you sink into a classic string party, the next you are in the middle of a groove that could have come out of a pop club, with her voice over it: warm, stubborn, and pure. She is a singer, pianist, composer and arranger in one, but above all she is a musical all -rounder. Her newest work, which she presents live this fall during her album tour, is the result of experiment, deepening and a bit of bravado. Think of film music that secretly turns out to be a pop, or of Turkish melodies that suddenly start to breathe jazz.
