The painter LADISLAV MEDNYÁNSZKY (1852 – 1919) is an important figure in the development of visual arts at the turn of the 19th century. and the 20th century. Originally from a noble family, he became an important Hungarian artist who worked not only in Strážky and Beckov, but also in Vienna, Budapest, Munich and Paris. The lecture will present the main milestones of the painter's life as well as his landscape and figurative work. of Arts at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava, where he currently works as the head of the department. She collaborated on the exhibition project L. Mednyánszky, Two Landscapes and authored exhibitions such as J. Rombauer, Biedermeier, From the Academy to Nature, Forms of Landscape Painting in Central Europe 1860-1890 and others. It deals with the art of the 19th century in Central Europe with an emphasis on the territory of today's Slovakia.
