Outstanding personality of the domestic and Slovak scene , songwriter and producer Katarzia, released her sixth studio album last year called "Happy Child". Katarzia composed the new compositions to a large extent on the piano, the producer and founder of the Animal Music publishing house Petr Ostrouchov collaborated with her on the arrangement and production (otherwise also, for example, collaborations with Vladimír Mišík, Lenka Dusilová or Beata Hlavenková). Katarzia also invited young Slovak pianist Kristína Smetanová, drummer Roman Vícha and bassist Tomáš Liška to record. The song Piesok features Swedish trumpeter Oskar Stenmark and vocalist Stephanie Alvarenga, both of whom live in New York, on trumpet. Thanks to her distinctive lyrics, Katarzia is often referred to as the voice of her generation. In them, they speak with openness and empathy about the current feelings of women through images of interpersonal relationships in the contemporary world.
In the interim period after the release of the previous album "n5" (2021), Katarzia has, among other things, composed work on a TV series. "Background of events" directed by Jan Hřebejk, for the feature-length documentary directed by Jarmila Štuková "My new face" and for a theatrical performance. She also collaborated on the successful HORÁČEK GEN XYZ project for Prague's Cirkus La Putika, where, together with several other producers and musicians, she reworked Michal Horáček's texts and compositions. In the past, Katarzia won, among other things, the Radio Head Awards, and her work was also recognized by the prestigious Berlinare festival.
