About event
Come and experience a special musical event during Lent. havrilla (vocals + guitar) and Jana Zibalová (vocals + guitar) invite you to a joint acoustic concert in the beautiful Piarist church in Nitra - 3/15 at 7:00 p.m.
THE CATHEDRAL TOUR started in the fall of 2023 and so far has already held 50 "open doors" of churches, mainly in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Songs with stories fill a sacred space that is open to all. The natural acoustics, atmosphere and unique story of each temple together with the concert program create a unique experience. They allow a person to stop and offer a safe place for rest, sadness and hope.
This is a series of concerts under a symbolic name. Every interior has an invitation to become a Cathedral.
The Lenten concept of the village pulls a person out of the endless carousel of duties, rush, tension and insecurities that we are a part of. It is a conscious "stop" that says: "Here and now you don't have to do anything but be."
havrilla
Musician and lyricist belonging to the Slnko Records publishing house. As a folk singer, he fits comfortably in a coffee shop or living room with his guitar, but he also likes to play with a band in clubs. His passion is discovering the echoes and stories of churches all over Slovakia. After a two-year stay in Cork, Ireland, he resonated with his debut album Citadela (2022). He has behind him the band EP tenzie (2023), which at the beginning of 2025 will grow into the album detention on LP. "I'm fascinated by films, poetry, the ocean and good food. The need to express, communicate and share lies in their creation. I want to bring out the beautiful and the difficult. I capture the world of the people around me. The microphone and guitar are my communication channel. Through music, I express myself in front of myself, in the community of musicians, friends and in front of people who can find themselves in my work." says Dušan.
Jana Zibalová
Slovak singer with a strong anchorage in spiritual music. Her characteristic voice is tastefully complemented by acoustic guitar and piano, which underline the intimacy of her work. The debut album closeness is a personal statement about the search for closeness to God and inner depth. The native of Ivanka near the Danube organically combines elements of modern Christian songwriting in her songs, which have already managed to resonate with many listeners. It is shaped by the family musical tradition and emphasizes authentic texts, which it perceives as a form of personal prayer. During the current Cathedral tour, he presents the songs from the album in their pure acoustic form. With his work, he invites the audience to silence and reflection in the daily rush.
