Introductory word: Ivana Beranová Wackermann (1955, Roudnice n. L.) studied psychology at Charles University in Prague. It mainly deals with research in the fields of psychophysiology and neurophysiology. He worked on research institutions in Czechoslovakia, Switzerland and Germany. Since 1998 he has lived permanently in Germany.
He has been involved in photographic work since the 1970s, then influenced mainly by surrealism, but also by civilism and information. At present, it is a follow -up to early starting points and is also trying new means of expression. He continues to work with mechanical cameras on film and classic photochemical procedures. In his work he does not seek "beautiful picture", but about capturing moments of visual fascination, moments of meeting with the image "in the state of birth". His photographic paintings have nothing to illustrate or prove, do not want to move the viewer or persuade anything - they want to be and should be themselves, that is: paintings. invited,
