Keith and Tex
Keith Rowe (Keith Barrington Rowe) grew in the Washington Gardens zone, in Saint Andrew Parish, Across the street of the home and future studio by Lee "Scratch" Perry, on the outskirts of Kingston. Phillip Texas Dixon grew up in the Pembroke Hall area and were presented by an ordinary friend. Starting as a group of five people singing around the corner, they were encouraged to try to record.
Working with producer Derrick Harriott, they recorded a series of singles in the late 60's, including "Stop That Train", "Tonight", "This is My Song", "Don't Look Back" "(A cover of the music of The Tempts) and" Let Me Be the One ".
Keith & Tex are Jamaican Rocksteady icons, with classics for life, such as 'Tonight', 'This is My Song', 'Run to the Rocks', 'Goodbye Baby' and, of course, the song 'Stop That Train', music World Famous worldwide that appeared in the original soundtrack in Jimmy Cliff's The Harder they eat. He released his hit "A Long Story". Versions of the song were later used by other artists, including Bongo Herman and Bingy Bunny, who made an instrumental sampling of it. With his beautiful voice, Rudy Mills manages to mix Rocksteady, ancient reggae and soul in a unique style.
Mills's "John Jones" song was a hit between the Skinhad subculture in England.
Now these three legends are back in digressing and will run and command the Lisbon boat in Portugal!
