The Arab world undeniably plays a prominent role on the global map, not only because of its rich resources of raw materials and sensitive geopolitical location, but also through its cultural and historical heritage. Tárik Meszár analyzes current issues such as the social regulatory role of Islam, the situation of ethnic and religious minorities, the legal systems of Arab countries, the treatment of women, superstitious beliefs, and local customs and traditions.
