Another moment, different program, different price. In December we have a Christmas special in the Mezrab with top musicians from France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The Mezrab is normally on every third Sunday of the month and has dance instructions in advance. We only deviate from that with this Christmas special.

The ways of Bert Leemans (chromatic accordion) and Ies Muller (wooden flutes, bombarde) have often crossed paths in all kinds of projects, and it was high time for a duo.
Voilá, here it is! In a fine dynamic blend, Breton, French and Irish melodies, traditional and original work, flow seamlessly into each other. The music of this duo takes you to another world and immediately invites you to dance.
- Valentin Barray
Valentin comes from Normandy, France, and draws his inspiration from the sea, which acts as contrasting horizon serves for proximity to his piano. He has collaborated with artists from various musical genres, breaking conventions from sailor songs to classical and venturing into jazz and folk. Valentin wants to reinvent concerts where the audience becomes an integral part of the performance. The cinematic aspect of Valentin's musical work has recently taken on a more important role, with the artist adding additional textures to the piano, incorporating electronic and ambient sounds, as well as orchestral elements. He regularly composes for literary works and films, performs in classical recitals and shares his passion for music through teaching.
LOCATION
Mezrab is very fond of Balfolk and invites us every month to come out dancing. On other days you can mainly go to the Mezrab for storytelling. The café serves as a source of inspiration for many theaters, centers, museums and festivals to also program storytelling. Mezrab regularly programs storytelling evenings several times a week. On the other evenings, storytelling is combined with other art disciplines (dance, visual arts, poetry, etc.) and a world music program.
There is room for about 100 dancers.
