Location: Kiezraum, Mehringdamm, Berlin - Bezirk Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
About event
Heat waves as early as June, high health risks, more and more heat deaths, droughts and falling groundwater levels. And yet, in the already highly dense inner cities, more and more cooling green and fallow areas are disappearing under asphalt and concrete every day.
The sealing of our districts continues rapidly and the temperature is rising and rising.
Where is cooling green missing the most? Why is it so difficult to stop this development or even reverse it and unseal the cities again?
Based on short reports from active initiatives in our district, as well as the NDR documentary “Heat and Concrete: The tough fight against sealing” by Gesine Ewaldt and Melanie Stucke (D 2025, 45 min.), we want to discuss these questions with you and consider possible counter-strategies together.
When: Where: Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, 7 p.m. Kiezraum on the Dragoon area (access between LPG and tax office) Mehringdamm Berlin-Kreuzberg subway
