Kiko López & Héctor Plaza: O ČEM STROMY NEMLUVÍ | TANEC PRAHA 2026

What do people and trees have in common? In their performance for public space, Kiko López and Héctor Plaza look for parallels between human life and the life of trees. They search for their roots and learn to survive and grow in changing conditions. The motif of rooting, growth and interconnection, organic and constantly changing, appears. Both performers come from a rich movement background including hip hop and street styles, contemporary dance, tribal and modern jazz. Their movement language is plastic and dynamic; fragility meets strength here, the energy of street techniques with elements of acrobatics and contact improvisation.

In direct contact with the audience, What the trees don't talk about offers the opportunity to slow down for a moment and perceive the relationships between bodies, movement and the place where we are, naturally and unobtrusively, like when we stop in a forest surrounded by the silent presence of trees.


Kiko López and Héctor Plaza belong to prominent personalities of the Spanish dance scene in recent years. They are characterized by civility of speech, high quality of movement and sensitive work with partnership and space. In his projects, he focuses on the relationship between the body and the environment and on the authenticity of the shared encounter with the audience.
