About event
Kill The Dandies! It is a music group that was founded in Prague in 2007 and consists of La Petite Sonja (Sonja Kröhn), Hank J. Manchini, Vratislav Plava, Petr Janák and Gregor von Kolon. From the beginning they have been based on the post of punk roots and in their work they are inspired by garage and psychedelic rock with significant overlaps into other genres.
In 2009,
In 2009, the group released the Drug Me Records label in cooperation with the Berlin label Pale Music and also in the distribution of London Rough Trade. The album is also released with the name I don’t Wanna Die, accompanied by a video directed by Michal Nojl. The album also includes the cover of the classics by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra Sand.
The second album called Those Who Hold the Flame (Drug Me Records/Pale Music Berlin, 2011) follows two years later and contains singles like Saturn or Into My Flames, as well as cover songs by King of Kalifornia by Rowland S. Howard and his group These Immortal Souls.
In 2013, the Group released an EP with two new songs, two coververses (Johnny Remember Me by John Leyton and Nightmare in Pink by The Chrome Cranks) and two remixes. The authors of these remixes are Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) and Steve Morell. Minialbum was published in cooperation with the music magazine Fullmoon.
In 2014, the band publishes a four -storey EP called I Saw Blue Seas, accompanied by an animated film directed by artist Jindřich Janíček.
In May 2017, they release a perfectly rated third -line album called Ron Ron Ron. It contains the single Doode, which was made by the video Simon Šafránek and songs such as Night City Heat Speed, Chocolate, Hippie Killer Moon, or cover of the sixty psychedelia I´m and Living Sickness by Calico Wall.
In the spring of 2020, they publish a single called May even Dance. It is part of the double album compilation, which is based on the tenth anniversary of the music magazine Fullmoon. At the same time, it is created for the song and a video, directed by Šimon Šafránek.
In the autumn of 2020, they are finishing their new album, which is announced at the beginning of 2021. The album is preceded by the release of the single Laura, which will be made again by director Šimon Šafránek and hosts legendary American actor Steve Buscemi. At this time, under the auspices of Disco Ocultista Sonja and Hank, with the rest of the band and to record music for the new feature film by Michal Nohejl called Occupation. In February 2021, the album called Your Blood My Veins (Drug Me Records), which also hosts Steve Busce and contains songs such as Hungry, As The Wind, Phaedra Is My Name, Laura and others. He is also a pilot song for the film Occupation. At the end of 2021, a double album soundtrack is released for this film. In March 2022, Sonja and Hanek are awarded the Czech Lion Award for Best Film Music.
In May 2024, their fifth in -line album called Weird in a Weird Way (Drug Records/Musicraft).
