Kim Dracula in Bratislava! Samuel Wellings, a Tasmanian native with the visage of a comic book villain, will bring chaos to the Majestic that flamboyantly ignores all the rules of extreme music. Forget the boxes; this is an aggressive collage of trap metal, industrial, hardcore, and bizarre cabaret nipples.
Originally a viral phenomenon from Hobart, Tasmania, they've done the impossible: turned internet fame into a legitimate and technically brilliant musical entity. The debut album A Gradual Decline In Morale is a manifesto of unpredictability, where cabaret piano and swing arrangements alternate with breakdowns that would not be lost even in Lorna Shore's discography. It's not just about masks and visual provocation, but about compositional courage, which was noticeably missing in today's often uniform metal scene.
Musically, Kim Dracula operates on the basis of total eclecticism. In his work you will hear the influences of Danny Elfman, industrial coolness and unadulterated metal aggression. The ability to switch in a flash between operatic vocals, jazzy phrasing and brutal growl gives his performances a dynamic that defies genre laws. If you are looking for music that will surprise you with something every thirty seconds and take you out of your comfort zone, Bratislava's Majestic is a must-stop in August.
Patriarchy is a provocative Los Angeles music project founded by the charismatic singer and director Actually Huizenga. Their work combines darkwave, industrial, goth-rock and synth-pop in a unique way, while heavy synth lines and aggressive beats are complemented by predatory vocals with exaggeration. The band is known for its controversial aesthetic, in which it takes the themes of sex, power and social taboos to heart. These themes are strongly intertwined in their ritualistic, theatrically conceived concerts and elaborate, cinematically stylized video clips. Albums like Asking For It or the latest Manual for Dying represent an ideal choice for fans of dark club music with a punk approach and raw energy.
Etterna is a Slovak metal band from Prešov, which was formed in 2016 and is profiled on the border between modern melodic metalcore and progressive metal. Their work stands on the contrast between aggressive, hard passages with strong breakdowns and emotional, catchy melodies with clean vocals, which have the potential to appeal to a wider audience. The group, led by the singer Ady, puts a huge emphasis on a strong visual aspect, which is proven by their elaborate video production and the effort to accompany almost every song with an original video clip. Etterna confirmed its position on the domestic hard scene with, among other things, the album Dead Doesn't Mean Gone, for which it won the prestigious Slovak Radio_Head Award in the Hard & Heavy category.
