Join us on the walls on Wednesday, July 30, for a wild ride with the Brazilian brotherhood of builders of spectacular hot -air balloons. We will screen the film Ballomania and will be accompanied by an expert introduction to the manager of the Festival of Tomáš Poštulka. 🎈

🟡 Ballomania (directed by: Sissel Morell Dargis, 2024, Denmark, Spain, 93 min.) The authorities, however, banned this activity, thus boiling the underground. Director Sissel Morell Dargis gains a unique access to this secret world to witness the dedication and obsession necessary to build balloons that reach a height of over 70 meters and for which more than 100 people are needed. The director sets out on a wild ride, and in the documentary brings an intimate view of the Baloeiros community and challenges the image of Baloeiros as criminals created by the Brazilian authorities. The film reveals the story of art, freedom and community that is beyond the stereotypes of the life of gangs and favel.

🇨🇿 The film will be screened with Czech subtitles. Olomouc, where in 2020 at Palacký University won the title of Master of Film Studio and Media Studio. In cooperation with MFDF Ji.hlava contributed for the website dock.revue. He was a member of the research teams for two academic projects - one was dedicated to Jan Švankmajer's work, the second research of the structures of the Czech film industry in 2018 and 2019. Between 2017-2020 he was responsible for the text identity of the Pastiche Filmz in Olomouc. At the turn of 2018 and 2019 he spent seven months on a study stay at Goethe Universität in Frankfurt nad Mohan. In 2020 he began working as a dramaturg and Outreach coordinator for the festival One World.
