About event
On Thursday, August, Kinedok will be screened for the first time in the unique space of the Prague Baden Baden swimming pool and we want you to be*and there! 🩱🏊️ 📸🌃
I am not yet who I want to be, which celebrated success on Czech lions and prices of Czech film criticism, as always we will project free of charge. We start at 20:30! 💸 🎞️
" Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, 91 min.)
Through the unique raw photographs of the time and the sincere diary records I am not yet who I want to be drawn to the hidden world of Libuše Jarcovjáková - a fearless young artist who seeks the truth and freedom in communist Czechoslovakia. Despite the state repression, the lens turns to itself, forgotten corners of Prague and those who live on the outskirts of society: migrants, Queer community and underground.
After a tragic event, he runs to Berlin, where he encounters difficulties in finding work and personal relations. After returning to Tokyo, he finds commercial success, but not personal fulfillment. When the Iron Curtain begins to shake, Libuše feels irresistible calls back - to the city that shaped it, and something that has never been able to capture the lens.
The visually riveting and poetic work, consisting solely of photographs of Libuš, is not only a portrait of one artist, but also meditation on memory, resistance and incomprehensibility of himself.
