About event

English Below

The first of a series of projection cinema Bund! A projection and discussion cycle focused on films that reflect Jewish history, culture and identity from perspectives outside the Zionist narrative. The name draws inspiration from the legacy of the jacket - the Jewish socialist movement, which since the end of the 19th century has promoted autonomy, equality and diaspora culture, not a nationalist state. We want to show the film through the Jewish experience in its diversity, to link the past with the present and create space for political and cultural self -determination. The author of the film, Israeli historian and former soldier Ronen Berelovich, combines archival shots, maps, photographs and his own commentary to present the development of the Zionist movement and its impact on the Palestinian population. The film follows historical events from the end of the 19th century over 1948 to the present and aims to question the dominant narrative of "land without a people for people without a country". It focuses on expropriation, refugee, ethnic cleaning and permanent conflict, trying to show how to realize Zionism as a colonial project.
