About event
Kino Loop proudly presents Kino Loop Feature #9:
The Rape of the Truck Driver by Juliette Chenais de Busscher
Tamara and Gabrielle are two girls travelling through the highways of Europe. They are young and they are free but they are looking for something their freedom cannot give them: Happiness. A shared past will unite them in their search.
The director stages a strong, rebellious and marginal female duo, on a road-trip that breaks gender stereotypes. A raw film, about rape and female sexuality, that makes you think.
"As a female director, it was important for me to bring strong female roles to the screen. It's so unexplored in cinema, our intelligence, our singularity."
Juliette Chenais de Busscher, filmmaker
Le Viol de Routier, France, 2017
Written, directed, filmed and edited by Juliette Chenais de Busscher
Cast: Flore Abrahams, Clémence Laboureau, Alexandre Ramadanov, Johannes Vorillon, Boris Ravaine, Jean-François Mounet, Arielle Moens, François Szabowski
