About event
We will end the last 🍀Breakfast in Ďatelinka in the winter semester with a 🍿cinema version. Matúš Astrab, a graduate of the Department of IDM, visual intermedial artist and documentarian, accepted our invitation. In his work, he combines digital and analog media, works with interactive technologies, animation, video-mapping and living organisms. His works often carry a strong ecological and research dimension, which he connects with an artistic statement. Matúš is a graduate of the Digital Media Studio of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, where he will present himself as a guest with his film Reforestation of the Past. This creates a suggestive contrast between Slovakia, where forests are disappearing faster than we can protect them, and Iceland, which is bloodthirsty trying to restore long-destroyed forests. The film combines artistic action, a personal statement, a strong expeditionary level and professional comments to offer a poetic, no-urgent message about respect for nature and the risk that the way back may no longer exist. 🔗Trailer: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/1130623888
