About event
To the cinema or the theatre? Why decide! 'Kino Utajeno' brings visitors a comprehensive cultural experience.
What is hidden behind the closed doors of normally inaccessible locations in Prague? Visitors will discover this during the site-specific film screenings of Kina Utajeno. A cycle of carefully curated evenings combines film screenings with participatory theater and a tour of the premises. Attentive viewers will not miss the gamified elements, which are an important part of the concept. Kino Utajeno thus offers a unique viewing experience that cannot be experienced in the comfort of your home or in an ordinary cinema.
As part of the October event, Kino Utajeno invites you to Villa P651. The villa, built in 1928 by Karl and Margaret Běhal, was a reflection of their professional success in the insurance industry. During World War II, the villa was occupied by the Nazis, and after its end, it served as the seat of the archbishop of the Czech Orthodox Church. Historic family photos of the Běhals, depicting not only meetings in the house, revealed what kind of cultural life took place here before the war. An important artifact was an invitation from 1935 in Czech and German announcing an evening with Max Brod, a friend of Franz Kafka, who was to discuss the political situation at the time. It is obvious that the villa thus functioned as a place of important meetings and cultural dialogue from its inception. With which film Kino Utajeno will link this location? This remains secret.
