The Klasika na scena project has been bringing a wide range of concert experiences to fans of classical music in the Turiec region for ten years. The tenth anniversary year is dedicated to an important anniversary that cannot be forgotten - in 2025 we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
During the upcoming concert evening, listeners will be able to listen to songs by composers of Jewish origin, authors who perished in concentration camps, as well as Roma songs.
In the first part the concert will feature a selection from the works of Arnold Schönberg, Viktor Ullmann, Pavel Haas and Ilse Weber, sung by the tenor Vladimír Šlepec. In the second part of the concert, the audience can look forward to the Peer Gynt Suite arranged for four-handed piano by Edvard Grieg, performed by Ellen Braslavsky and Markus Urbas. The Turčianska gallery in Martin regularly presents, in the month of October we selected the painting "Dream" by Arnold Weisz - a Cuban, found in the art collection of the gallery. This work is a sad testimony and at the same time a legacy of the author, who himself became a victim of the dark events of our history.
We sincerely wish that everyone who looks at the painting, at least for a moment, imagines the sadness and pain of a generation marked by war - and that together we can turn our present day dream of a better and more tolerable world into reality. (https://www.turiecgallery.sk/sk/dielo-mesiaca/)
