lutosławski quartet
The ensemble, which according to the great composer of the 20th century - Witold Lutosłski - was named, was founded in 2007 and is one of the leading string quartets in Poland. The Lutosławski Quartet, which is one of the ensembles of the Witold-Lutosławski-National Music Forum in Wrocław (Narodowe Forum Muzyki), has made a name for itself quite quickly and plays concerts at the most important festivals and stages in the world, from Tokio to São Paulo. With outstanding artists such as Garrick Ohlsson, Piotr Anderszewski, Kevin Kenner, Bruno Canino, Michel Lethiec, Tomoko Akasaka, Eugen Indjic, Ryszard Groblewski, Andrzej Bauer and with excellent jazz musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Uri Caine, Benoît Delbek, VIJAY Iyer and Charles Lloyd. The musicians of the quartet also worked with the Paris Ircam. The Lutosławski Quartet has recorded Naxos, Dux and CD Accord for the labels, and its albums were also released by NFM. The artists mainly play music of the 20th and 21st centuries and are primarily devoted to the popularization of Polish composers such as Witold Lutosławski, Karol Szymanowski, Paweł Mykietyn and Marcin Markowicz, one of the members of the ensemble.
