Austria has set itself ambitious climate goals:
a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2040.
But there is still a significant gap between political objectives and real implementation. At the same time, the pressure on the economy and society is growing. Rising energy prices, international competitive dynamics and social distribution issues make it clear that climate policy has long been a question of location and prosperity.
Against this background, the Club 20 event “A climate plan for Austria - ecological transformation as a driver of prosperity” highlights current scientific findings and economic perspectives on ecological transformation. The focus is on the question of how climate neutrality can be achieved without endangering competitiveness, employment and social stability. The role of innovation, investments and political framework conditions as well as the specific challenges for Austria as a business location are discussed.
In cooperation with eXplore! moderated by Kurier editor-in-chief Christoph Schwarz, leading experts from science and business discuss realistic strategies for effective climate policy in Austria.
