Club of astronomers SNM - Observatory for Bratislava when dreams touch the sky

After a long break, we are very pleased that we can invite you to the first of the series of autumn lectures within the club astronomers SNM.

The lecture will come to give Mgr. Peter Bartek, DSB Observatorium and will be dedicated to the project of the Bratislava Observatory on the roof of the German school, which was officially opened last year.

Bratislava for decades was missing a dignified popularization center for astronomy, whether in the form of an observatory or planetary. Several attempts in the past have failed as a result of socio-political changes or lack of will by the competent part. After the abolition of the astronomical section of the PKO in 2004, which acted as a makeshift, there was a 20 -year vacuum, which was at least partly filled with the effort of enthusiasts to maintain the popularization of astronomy in the city above the water. Therefore, it is very pleasing that thanks to the enthusiasm of one of the parents of the children of the German school (Deutsche Schule Bratislava), the project of construction of the observatory, which is also opened to other schools and the general public, has been implemented. After more than a year of slowly starting operation, it is possible to balance a little. Let's look at the story of this observatory and what challenges and perspectives before it are still. Come and look. The event is implemented as part of the SaS cooperation project at the SAS and the SAS, also with the contribution and support of the astronomical Institute of SAS, v. in. i.
