About event

Documentary, 2024
Director: Eva Križková

On November 11, as part of the Club cinema, we invite you to the film Vtáčnik, which penetrates into the lives of the residents of a Bratislava neighborhood. The event is organized in cooperation with the European Capital of Culture - Trenčín 2026. 🙌

Fragments of local stories of the residents of the district with the characteristic name Vtáčnik are mixed with director Eva's childhood memories and reflections on the bird community. A bird's-eye view of the old-time director. Research on the oldest living animal species on earth thus moves a local urban problem to a global philosophical level: What does our behavior, settlement and coexistence say about the future of our species? Is it rather pragmatism or imagination that will help humanity survive on this planet? 🏙

Ticket price: €5 in advance, €8 on the spot
You can buy tickets online, in the Cultural Information Center or directly before the event in Hviezda.

After the screening of the film Vtáčnik, a discussion will be held that will touch on the topics of densification of urban construction, the creation of high-quality public spaces and the intersection between diverse living spaces, the needs and motivations of people and animals.
How can people and nature coexist in an urban environment?
How not to build in cities at the expense of greenery? 🌱
(Occam Real Estate)

Moderated by: Omar Mirza (city curator of Trenčín)

Entrance to the discussion is free.
