Sebastian Knauer & Johannes Strate:
The unique pop-classical duo on tour for the first time!
Two stars, two worlds, one vision: Sebastian Knauer, one of the most successful classical pianists, and Johannes Strate , lead singer of Revolverheld, can be seen on their first joint “Classic Meets Pop Tour 2024” through Germany in the fall. Tickets for the 12 concerts of the unique new crossover duo are available now!
Tickets for the concerts (except Cologne) are available from today exclusively on www.myticket.de and on the toll-free ticket hotline 040 - 2372 400 30 as well as from March 22nd, 2024 for all concerts at all known ticket offices.
Both have written music history in their respective genres, fill the largest concert halls and arenas and are cheered by their audiences. Johannes Strate and Sebastian Knauer have been friends for a long time, and now they are on stage together. They combine their different musical homes of classical and pop to create an incomparable sound that gets under the skin and delights fans from both universes. Their joint concert debut in the completely sold-out Hamburg Elbphilharmonie last year screamed for more, so Johannes Strate and Sebastian Knauer will finally be able to be seen throughout Germany in autumn 2024.
The program includes virtuoso interpreted pieces such as George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue", as well as piano works by Eric Satie and Maurice Ravel right next to the Revolverheld top 10 hits such as "Let's go", "I leave the light on for you" or songs from Strate's solo album "The Signs are prepared for a storm.” Fabian Richter, arranger and pianist on “The Voice”, has arranged the songs, in which the two stars Strate and Knauer are accompanied by a five-piece string ensemble, exclusively for this line-up.
The fascination of this special duo lies in its fluidity Contours: Here it is not simply classical music that begins where pop ends, or vice versa, but rather it is the musical fusion of both worlds that overwhelms and enchants the audience.
About Johannes Strate:
The in Bremen-born Johannes Strate has been the lead singer of the German pop-rock band Revolverheld since 2002. From 2005 onwards, the band regularly achieved chart success with their hits and a total of six studio albums, including number 1 in the German radio charts. Her album “Always in Motion” was certified double platinum and sold over 500,000 copies. Other albums such as “In Color” and “Zimmer mit Blick” achieved gold status and high chart positions. Johannes Strate is also known as a celebrated solo artist and released his first album "The Signs Are on Storm" in 2011, which he produced together with Philipp Steinke. He was also a coach and jury member in the second and third seasons of the Sat.1 casting show "The Voice Kids", together with Lena Meyer-Landrut, Henning Wehland (2014) and Mark Forster (2015). In 2018 he took part in the fifth season of "Sing my Song - The Exchange Concert".

Sebastian Knauer's more than 30-year concert career has seen the exceptional pianist in over 50 Countries on 4 continents. So far, Knauer has released 15 critically acclaimed albums and was awarded the Klassik Echo in 2017 for the CD “ÜBERBACH”. The list of Sebastian Knauer's concerts with world-famous orchestras, conductors and international stars is almost endless and ranges from the Shanghai Philharmonic to the New York City Opera Orchestra, Thomas Hengelbrock and Simone Young to Sol Gabetta and Jason Marsalis. Since 2001, Sebastian Knauer – together with Hannelore Elsner until 2019 – has initiated numerous “Word Meets Music” programs, in which one composer is always the focus. Today he regularly works with Martina Gedeck, Iris Berben, Katja Riemann as well as Klaus Maria Brandauer and Ulrich Tukur. In 2016 he was a co-founder of the “Hamburger Piano Summer” project, where he combined four different genres in one concert together with the pianists Martin Tingvall, Axel Zwingenberger and Joja Wendt. Through his public commitment to numerous charitable institutions, but also through his great interest in global political events, he repeatedly makes a name for himself through special projects. In 2012, Sebastian Knauer founded his own festival “mozart@augsburg” and took over the artistic direction there, as well as at the International Music Festival Week 2017 at Bad Berleburg Castle and the “Ludwig FUN Beethoven” festival 2021 in Aachen.
