About event
As part of NPÚ's Book Thursdays, we invite you to a lecture by PhDr. Vladislav Razím, in which he presents his publication Fortification of the cities of medieval Europe.
The book deals with the broad issue of city walls in medieval Europe, from the beginnings to the dawn of the Renaissance. In addition to the preferred area of building form and its changes, issues of spatial development, external fortifications, construction and defense do not disappear. The author will remind you of the meaning and procedures of research on medieval city fortifications, the significance of these large-scale construction works and the circumstances of the long-term preparation of the presented work, which follows on from the three-volume book Medieval Fortifications of Czech Cities (2019–2022).
You can meet the author on Thursday 31 October from 4 p.m. in the lecture hall of the NPÚ General Directorate building at Liliová 5, Prague 1.
💻The lecture will also be streamed via Zoom:https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85069832317?pwd=T4jLrxsaFCi8Huacn66MKjSDELvL7T.1
