As part of the NPÚ Book Thursdays, we invite you to a lecture by Mgr. Filipa Srovnala, Ph.D., in which she will present the publication Podlipnické kostely: studie - rákryu - documents. Proceedings from the conference Podlipnice churches - past without future?
A collection of studies, essays and reflections, documents and photographs about the churches of St. Martin in Dolní Město, St. George in Řečice and St. Markets in Loukov is based on the interdisciplinary meeting Podlipnice churches - past without future?, which took place in 2022 at Lipnice Castle. The aim of the conference was to recapitulate the history, report on the present and outline other possible perspectives of this exceptionally authentically preserved group of Gothic buildings, which in recent years have unmistakably entered the public's consciousness precisely under the newly created term Podlipnice churches. The book covers topics on the border between general history, art history and preservation, but also architecture, liturgy and historical and contemporary music. In addition to contributions deepening our knowledge of Podlipnice churches (architecture, painting decoration, restoration), we also find here articles devoted to domestic and foreign parallels or general texts devoted to the Christianization of Bohemia, liturgy in the Middle Ages, contemporary modifications of liturgical spaces, acoustic ecology, etc.
< br/>The publication closes with a section reporting on the activities of the Friends of Podlipnice churches. This is also evidenced by the book's rich visual component, including new images by Petr Neubert, as well as archival photos and reproductions of posters from organized events. Hanzlík, Karel Kibic, Jan Rückl, Norbert Schmidt, Miloš Sládek, Filip Srovnal, Michal Šelemba, Tomáš Petráček, Bibiana Pomfyová, Jan Trojan and Marius Winzeler and photographs by Petr Neubert.
