📍Stan in the Great Hall
Language accessibility: the text is in English, the meeting will take place in Czech. Queer & crip friendly.
Free entry
We read:
✦ Clare, Eli. Exile and Pride: Disability, Queerness, and Liberation. South End Press, 1999. (selected passages, mainly from the first chapter "Clearcut: explaining the distance");
✦ Oubramová, Eva. Selected poems from the collection What's left? Literární salon, 2009.
Clear-cutting and fish farms in the forests of American Oregon, the old Most and the landscape of northern Bohemia devastated by mining and the demolition of cities open up similar questions. What do our bodies remember from the places we came from? And what of us remains written in the landscape? How does the experience of loss, uprooting or closeness imprint itself on the way we inhabit our own bodies and the spaces around us?
