Jakub Kołodziejczyk is a jazz vibrafonist, a classic druming player, composer and arranger. He is an extremely versatile musician active in jazz, popular and classical music. He is a co-founder of the award-winning Jazz-Classic group Marimbazzi Duo, with whom he released the author's debut album UNUSUAL MUSIC BOX in 2024. It also leads its own group Jakub Kołodziejczyk Quartet, which won 2nd place at jazz competition during the Wesoła Jazz festival in Warsaw in 2024. Department of drum instruments. Jakabčic CZ-SK Big Band, Symphony Orchestra of the Slovak Radio or Opera of the National Theater Košice. He is a permanent member of the group Juraj Schweigert & TheGroove Time and Lenka Gális Quartet, he also acts as a studio player. He studied at the Ján Levoslav Bella Conservatory in Banská Bystrica, where he gained extensive experience not only in jazz, but also in classical music and modern percussion. During and after his studies he actively concerted in Slovakia and abroad, including countries such as Germany, Czech Republic, Latvia and France. Its interpretation capabilities are confirmed by several awards. In 2023 he won 2nd place in the nationwide competition of students of conservatories in the game on percussion instruments and honorable mention in the category of melodic drum instruments. At the competition of the new faces of Slovak jazz he won the Music Fund Award for a convincing collective performance and as the only soloist award for an advanced instrumental performance. The Council discovers the magic of jazz as a way of free musical expression. In addition to studying psychology, he is actively engaged in singing and performs in smaller lines. In music, he seeks sincerity and space for emotion.
