We cordially invite you to a commented show to the exhibition of the Death of the porcelain doll of the Slovak artist Vlasta Žáková in the curatorial concept of Janka Babušiak. -
Mgr. Art Vlasta Žáková Artd. (born 1981 in Rožňava) is a graduate of the Department of Fine Arts and Intermedia Fu TU in Košice (2000-2006) and doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (2013-2017). Won the awards: 2008 and 2010 Award Finalist 333, National Gallery Prague; 2009 - Jury Prize, Biennale Skúter II GJK Trnava; 2007 - EGO ART BRATISLAVA Award. She completed residences in Red Gallery London and within the K.A.I.R. Košice in 2013. It has long been processed by personal and current social topics exclusively by layering and stitching textile material by hand and machine embroidery. It was the first to create small textile objects and images showing the idea of ​​a destroyed depopulated country, which is renewed after destruction. How to oppose large -format coarse embroidered compositions of take -offs and falls of actors party parties and night entertainment. An important part of her work is life -size textile sculptures and costume sculptures for performance. He model the textiles of the last bar drunks and at the same time black and white beings from the parallel world installed in darkened rooms using UV lights. In recent works he reflects the gray concrete culture of new housing in the isolation of newly formed satellites, but also an intimate series about the loss of the unborn child at any stage of pregnancy and pain that accompanies this loss
