About event
We invite you to a commented show of the Martin Gerboc exhibition: Happy Ending Fairy Tale / Fairy Tale with a happy ending on Wednesday, March 5 at 5 pm.
The author will guide you through the exhibition.
The third independent exhibition of Martin Gerboca in White & Weiss Gallery offers an insight into the author's introspective and emotional intensive creation, in which dark cynicism and hidden anxiety are associated with elements of grotes and perversity. His paintings draw us into a world of seeming carefree, where an unmistakable combination of fragility and raw reality dwells under the mask of frenetic laughter. It hides under the grimace - the mask of the main character and all the side characters, or the invisible and hidden looks at the scene from behind the curtain. Works, many of which were created on the occasion of this exhibition, are thoroughly thought out, we find a number of art, philosophical, literary or film references. We do not have to know the specific inspirational sources to feel a strange breath of something sinister. The contemporary image world of Martin Gerboc is primarily a world -soaked cynicism. It is a world that screams and in which the author as one of his own characters is shouting and mocking through the pins roughly spread over the face of the actor's author on the scene of this restless and cynical theater. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, graduated from foreign internships at S. R. University of Pennsylvania in the USA and the Institute of Visual Communication at Kolding School of Design in Denmark, where he also graduated from postgraduate studies. He finished his doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. For several years he worked as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He has a number of independent and group exhibitions, the author of several books of philosophical essays and essays about painting, has made several music video clips for Gothic and punk groups and several independent film short -range projects.
