About event
We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition The Continuation of the Utopian Myth, by the artist Pavel Truben
The Mīna art space will be held next week, 6 November 2024 at 18:00 in the presence of the artist Pavel Truben and the curator of the exhibition Petr Megyeši ⭐️
Pavol Truben (*1985) is a visual artist who works at VŠVU. In his work, he is not limited to one medium, he creates from drawings to spatial installations. This is also shown in the exhibition Continuation of the Utopian Myth, which follows on from the author's previous project (Emergence of the Utopian Myth, Station Contemporary Art Gallery, Bratislava, 2023), an installation dedicated to reconstructions of fictitious historical events and projections of the future. The author demonstrates the role of images in interpreting reality, maintaining tradition and creating new fictional worlds. Through radical imagination, a combination of unconventional modes of temporality, critical analysis of media situations and authorial mystification, he mediates the processes of forming mythopoetic images and narratives. The multimedia installation invites you to think about the genesis of myths and their re-interpretations, which are framed by disaster and utopia.
⭐️ The exhibition is for sale
This event was supported by the City of Košice.
The project was supported from public sources in the form of a scholarship by the Art Support Fund.
The project was financially supported by the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the form of the Intra-School Grant System.
