Komentovaná prehliadka | Jan Kaláb: Amoeba Ignita

We invite you to a commented show of the exhibition of Jan Kaláb Amoeba Ignita on Tuesday, June 24 at 17.00. The imaginative situation, connecting micro- and macro-worlds, resembles a view through the microscope, underwater scenes captured by sonar or telescopic images of the distant universe. Organic shapes bring elements of biology and nature, thus encouraging the perception of time and space as a place of constantly changing processes. The distinctive color spectra in combination with the moromeric basis leads to results that also act organically softly and digitally precise. Many take place between the area and the space, respectively between illusion and reality. Everything is static and dynamic at the same time. Kalab's work cleverly balances between painting and painting installations that naturally cross the boundaries of the surfaces of the canvas (in places and walls) and become sovereign painting objects. Freedom of shapes, formal reduction, color gradation and contrasts draw into the game of optical illusions and biological transformations.
