We would like to invite you to a guided tour of the work Open My Glade (Flatten) by Pipilotti Rist. Together with the curators Audrey Hörmann and Jaro Varga, you will have the unique opportunity to hear a commentary on the work and the circumstances of its preparation and selection. The first intervention of the Na počkanie cycle this year is available in the waiting room of the bus station, which is the gateway to Trenčín. At the place of arrivals and departures of buses, the work of Pipilotti Rist is a poetic dash - in the middle of waiting, we are interrupted by a woman who flattens her face against the monitor, as if she wants to pass through the glass and go down to the street - to cross the border between the world of images and our reality.
The Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist has fundamentally changed the way video art can be experienced since the 1990s. It ceases to be just a projection on a gallery wall. It becomes a spatial situation and a bodily experience. The artist's work sensitively reveals how images shape our perception, memories and daily rituals.

The first intervention of this year's Waiting Places cycle is installed in the waiting room of the bus station, which serves as the gateway to Trenčín. In this place of arrivals and departures, Rist's work acts as a poetic pause – in the midst of waiting, we are
interrupted by a woman pressing and flattening her face against a monitor, as if trying to pass through the glass and step out into the street – crossing the boundary between the world of the image and our reality.
Since the 1990s, Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist has fundamentally transformed the way video art can be experienced. It is no longer merely a projection on a gallery wall; it becomes a spatial situation and a bodily experience. Her work sensitively reveals how images shape our perception, memories, and everyday rituals.
