About event
The collection of 125 works of selling exhibition is the best in the art market for 2025. With theoretics of art Nina Gažovičová and Július Barczi, we will talk about the artistic value of works, provenance or historical context of their origin.
The greatest attraction of the exhibition is undoubtedly the title work of the auction of the Krasoja Radio Majerník, since 1940 repeatedly published and exhibited. The work was created in 1938, in the author's turning -out creative period. Majerník was 28 years old, he completed his studies, a successful artistic debut (1931, an exhibition of Slovak art, organized by Prague Manes) and almost one -year stay in Paris (1931 - 1932). staged circus or rather riding ascents. Whether it is a reality or a dream background remains a matter of open interpretation. As art theorist Ľudmila Peterajová writes, the picture evokes "the ladies of the Spanish type in the scenery of a mountain landscape, whose background is dominated by the silhouette of Cyprus and the romantic ruins of the medieval castle," emphasizes the newly discovered romantic tone of the work.
