About event
Come and visit Lida Mlichová's Book Workshop. This workshop is the only workshop of its kind in Slovakia with a long family tradition. The workshop was founded on the foundations laid by the artist Ján Vrtílek (1906 – 2000), father of Lida Mlichová, member of the leading organization Meister der Einbandkunst based in Munich.
Books from the workshop have won many awards at Slovak and international competitions. The bookstore tradition began in Žilina in 1928 with the arrival of Ján Vrtílek in Žilina. It has been operating as an independent book workshop since 1990.
See historical presses, cutters and other machines that are part of book production. Discover books big and small, from different materials, from different links. All this, but also many other things, will be shown to you and Lida Mlichová will personally guide you through the workshop.
The number of visitors is limited, so we recommend early reservation.
You can reserve a place at [email protected] or by calling +421 41 764 96 92.
Admission: 3.00 Euro (adults - 18+) / EUR 2.00 (students - elementary, middle, high school)
