We invite you to a commented show of the exhibition "9,000 km: Japanese inspirations in Slovak art" 🇯🇵⚖️
Together with curators Žaneta Húsková and Patrik Krajčovič we will look at the fascinating meeting of two cultures. How do the meanings change when Slovak art encounters Japanese aesthetics and philosophy? What remains and what is transformed in a new context? We will also discuss the impact of Japanese mythology, its persistence and transformation outside the limits of our homeland. Come to explore the relationship between tradition and present, minimalism and consumer culture, as well as cultural expansion and apropriation issues.
