On Thursday 24 October 2024 from 19:00 to 19:45 there will be a guided tour. Ivana Šáteková and curator Omar Mirza will talk about the works of the exhibition You can do it yourself!
Ivana Šáteková (1984, Bratislava) studied at the Department of Puppetry at the Academy of Music, graduated from the Academy at the Department of Painting and Other Media with prof. D. Fischer. In 2013, she was a finalist for the Essl Art Award, in 2014 she was awarded the Tatra Bank Foundation Award – Young Creator. He draws and paints, creates objects and installations, in recent years he embroiders by hand and by machine. Uncompromising humor, irony and insight are typical for her, with which she comments on current social issues. It connects history, folklore and folk traditions with the contemporary world, thereby unmasking typical Slovak phobias and "-isms". She is a member of the Dzive drawing trio, collaborates with the children's magazine Bublina, and is engaged in illustration. She lives and works in Bratislava.
During the exhibition of Ivana Šáteková, it will be possible to listen to a music set mixed by DJ Vec.
