A commented show of the exhibition to make more light

commented showing the exhibition to make more light from Joseph Srna will take place on October 7. His paintings act both personal and historical testimony, which allows you to look for the official versions of history. Despite compliance with the stylish doctrines, silent resistance to the absurdity of the regime sees from his works, making the painting a subversive from the inside. The collection captures the last decade of the author's life, which overlaps with the key turnover of the modern history of Slovakia - the fall of the totalitarian regime and the advent of democracy. The set of works acts not only as a historical comment, but also as a personal testimony of aging, introspection and consciousness of self -ending. They do not cause nostalgia after the past, but offer an analytical, accurate and still living view of society. His paintings keep fragments of the world that slowly disappear, reminding the importance of critical perception of the past and cultural memory.
