About event
Commented tour of the Velata exhibition accompanied by the author and curator
💥 Thursday 13.11. at 5:00 p.m. 💥
Synagogy Towers – Contemporary Art Center, Halenárska 2, Trnava
In the VELATA exhibition, the artist Lucia Čarnecká focuses on the transformation of the sculpture and its meaning in the contemporary context. It moves it from traditional matter to digital space, from a physical gesture to an elusive presence. Her work explores how bodily form, material and space can intertwine with virtual dimensions, thereby creating new ways of perceiving the figure and its symbolism.
At the center of her attention is the figure of the velata – a veiled female face that becomes a timeless metaphor for identity, vulnerability and inner strength. The theme of veiling opens up a space for reflection on the inner and outer world, on what is hidden and what is visible, and on personal and collective memory.
The author Lucia Čarnecká and the curator Lucia Kotvanová will personally guide you through the exhibition on a guided tour, which will reveal the process of creation of the works, conceptual connections and different interpretations of the velat figure. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the materials, techniques, digital interventions and ideas behind this unique exhibition.
