Komentovaná prohlídka – výstava Expanze s kurátorkou

Between 2013 and 2025, the Gallery of the Capital City of Prague acquired 2,366 art artifacts. In the previous comparable period, there were only 375 of them. Such an expansion of the collection makes it possible not only to map the work of established authors, but also to capture what is happening in the emerging scene of artists. The exhibition presents a selection from the acquisition activity of the GHMP during the period when the institution was headed by exhibition curator Magdalena Juříková. This year, she also ends her position as director of the GHMP.

The presented works cover a wide range of media – from painting, drawing and sculpture to photography and video to spatial installations and forms of conceptual art. In addition to well-known authors of several generations (Jitka Válová, Stanislav Kolíbal, Milan Grygar, Květa Pacovská, Milena Dopitová, Jiří David, etc.), the exhibition also gives space to younger creators (Tadeáš Kotrba, Vasil Artamonov and Alexey Klyuykov, the Podebal group, etc.).

The director of GHMP and exhibition curator Magdalena will guide visitors through the exhibition Juříková.
