About event
On the occasion of Hofman's two life anniversaries, the editor of the last issue of the Theater Revue (2/2024) took Věra Veemanová an interview with his granddaughter and grandson - with Mrs. Adriana Skálová and Mr. Leonard Ragusa. The tour of the current exhibition follows this interview and focuses on Hofman's non -privileged work - design, architecture and applied art. Both descendants, loyal guards of the artist's legacy, will personally be present and share with us their personal memories and observations. She has undergone a sharp development between the wars and Hofman, from the illusion, realistic decoration to modern expression, to a non -permissive, stylized shape that expresses the inner nature of drama, not just his external description. Lucie Vlčková, Ph.D., is an art historian, curator in the collection of applied graphics and photographs and scientific secretary of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. It deals with art and design from the end of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century in a broader cultural context. She is the author of the concept of the exhibition of Czech Cubism in the House of the Black Mother of God, the author and co -author of a number of exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad and the author of book monographs Vojtěch Preissig, Antonín Kybal and other book publications.
