About event
The exhibition of the disappeared Sudetenland maps various areas of Bohemia and Moravia, in which after World War II the German minority was displaced. The border mountain areas underwent the most striking transformation, where the efforts to reopen were not very successful. The exhibition closer to the post -war fate of the cultural landscape and municipalities, many of which have completely disappeared. However, what makes the exhibition exceptional and what its success stems from is the Photodvojice, which offers the opportunity to compare the form of places in the past and today. Some of the historical photographs have been old for more than a hundred years. In contrast, they include images from the turn of the millennium, capturing the same places. These photographs best illustrate the transformation of the nature of the landscape and thus materialize the imaginary imprint of history in the landscape. The exhibition was premiered in 2002 in Prague and has since successfully traveled not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany and Poland, for example.
The exhibition will be carried out by Tereza Štěpková from the organization Antikomplex.
