A treasury of Czech (Slovak) comics - Karel Chladil.
Quick arrows: is it possible to read comics and novels chronologically according to the plot?
Welcome to my first comics panel. My name is Karel Chladil and I am a high school English teacher. I love comics, they are my passion. I've been collecting them since my early childhood, and one such comic that has survived to this day is Jaroslav Foglar's Fast Arrows. Whether you read them in your youth at different times, or through novels written by Jaroslav Foglar, there is simply a right time to get to know them. There are also those who go further and collect any thing, object, book, all wrapped in the guise of nostalgia and proper youth. So does it make sense to deal with Quick Arrows at all today? Is there something hidden in them, or are they already surpassed today? A lot of people claim that they read them then and don't now, but they still remember them and don't want to read them anymore, so as not to spoil the youthful experience of that time. Today's lecture will deal with another perspective on the topic of Quick Arrows, i.e. how to read it "correctly", if there is such a thing at all. In the course of more than 80 years, we can still deal with this idea and ask ourselves, how to read them? How does the Shadow Trilogy relate to the comic pages? And how do they follow each other? Who has it right? Does it even make sense to deal with it? Wouldn't it be better to leave it alone and just read? After all, it's about an idea and lofty ideas, and not if we have to read this story first, then this one, because... Oh well, we'll talk about the rest at our new comic panel lecture.
