The comic book program will take place in the courtyard and in the VŠVU building on Hviezdoslavovo Square and in the Palffy Palace at Panská 19. 😍

👉 18:30 - 19:30 - Chernobyl: The Fall of Atomgrad (Palffy Palace) The story reveals the mistakes and decisions that have caused the tragedy, and focuses on the fate of the staff of the power plant, firefighters, families and the inhabitants of the surroundings.

During the festival weekend, the Pálffy Palace courtyard will come alive with the artistic art in live broadcast. Artists and artists will live the original works right in front of the visitors. Come and see how new paintings, drawings and illustrations arise, experience the process of creation up close and talk to the authors. During the weekend, Filip Horník, Vilma Klčo, Petra Lukovicsová, Ivana Pišútová and David Soboň. His thrilling life and original work performed by Matúš Vizár, Adrian Hnát and Michal Hvorecký was published in a comic book form in the book Comrade Dissident now - at a time when government power is again trying to "restore order". The book will be presented by Matúš Vizár with Michal Hvorecký. The participants of this MasterClass will receive feedback on their comic parties by renowned comic book author Gerald Parel. Gerald will first present his practices and techniques of telling the story in demonstrations of his work. What allows you to understand the creative practices, techniques and aesthetic decisions of the author who, among others, for DC and Marvel.

👉 13:00 - 14:00 - Pomimo Shorts: Barbora Kukrechtová (Pálffy Palace) In a collection of comic book strips, the author with cynical humor and insight deals with everyday woes and challenges of life allergy sufferers. Short and funny stories offer the reader a new perspective on the common situations that all who are struggling with allergies. Culture and where begins “high” art? Is there this limit today? The invitation to the debate was accepted by the visual creators Gerald Parel and Michal Ivan, who worked on the world dimension of the League of Legends, but also for brands such as Marvel, DC or Magic: The Gathering - one from France, where the comic is considered "ninth art".

👉 17:00 - 18:00 - Martin Foret: Contemporary Slovak comic book novel (Pálffy Palace)

In the last ten years, the Slovak comic has undergone a major change in form - instead of existence on periodicals, as it was last century, colonized and in harmony with the world. book shelves. It could be said that he also came formally and in content. The lecture of Czech expert Martin Foret will focus on the phenomenon of the contemporary Slovak comic book novel (Graphic Novel), will present his most interesting representatives and presets, while trying to name the specifics of individual works. The introduction of the first part of the comic book series, which is based on the popular production socialism with a warm face from Andrej Kuruc. The text is based on interviews with memorials and memorials that focus on the life of the people of the people in the 1980s. Illustrator Viliam Slamina has gone their stories to socialist gray, from which it occasionally pees out pink. The event is moderated by Marek Hudec. It will be drawn on a large white paper format using black markers. The creation will have time and the assignment will be based on this year's theme of the BRAK festival. One comic page can show a lot of information. How not to get lost in her creation? We will show the basics, but we will also learn how to influence the pace of the story using the size and arrangement of the panels. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced illustrator or just starting to work. The workshop is led by Eva Ondová, Illustrator Slniečka or Beliana.
